Best Guitar Video Lessons: Guitar Superstars

Guitar Superstars is a system of online guitar lessons created by guitarist Andy Johnson, guitar player for the the group Rat Arenas. He's an experienced player and teacher who has put together this online guitar learning system which he claims is fast and easy for anyone to learn. While it's hard to substantiate such claims, and glowing statements made on Johnson's web site, this does look like a fairly decent lesson system, certainly for the money involved.

Here are the 5 points that make me give this set of video lessons a thumbs up:


IT HAS DIVERSITY

The better part of the guitar superstars download is a series of videos - online guitar lessons by 6 different guitar teachers, all of whom seem to have fairly impressive credentials. They each teach in different styles, designed to cater to a range of musical interests including rock/metal, blues, jazz and fusion, classical/spanish (acoustic), and even bass guitar.

IT DEALS WITH THE MUSIC BUSINESS, NOT JUST PLAYING

The site promises a wealth of information regarding guitar playing as a profession and business. Included is advice concerning how to record your own music (presumably digitally), where to send demos, how to get a record deal, opportunities to work as a guitarist, teaching, selling your own recorded music on the internet, and more.

IT HAS A GOOD INTERACTIVE PLAY ALONG PROGRAM

Another perk is an interactive program that's included with the package known as the GSS Jam Machine. This is basically play along software with a variety of user options that make it easy to adjust and control.

IT'S REASONABLY PRICED

The $47.00 one time charge, most people would admit, doesn't seem too exorbitant. I mean, that's what about 1 lesson with one of these guys would cost. And you get a long series of lessons with all 6 of them! Additionally the site promises further lesson uploads in the near future. Chances are by next week you won't even remember paying $47.00, and you'll have some serious lesson material at your finger tips for months or even years to come.
